St. Laurence Names Maddie McHugh Head Girls Lacrosse Coach
BURBANK, IL - St. Laurence High School is excited to announce the hiring of Maddie McHugh as the school’s new Head Girls Lacrosse Coach.
McHugh brings a strong coaching background at both the club and high school levels to St. Laurence. She currently serves as a coach with Team One Lacrosse, a club that operates throughout the north and west Chicago suburbs. Maddie has also been a coach in Marist High School’s girls lacrosse program since 2021, serving as both the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach McHugh to St. Laurence,” said St. Laurence Athletic Director Tim Chandler. “She has amassed outstanding lacrosse experience as a coach in her young career, and she displayed a strong understanding of what it takes to build a program. We cannot wait for her to lead our female student-athletes.”
Impressively, McHugh was a multisport athlete at North Central College. She was a three-year team captain in lacrosse, earning CCIW Player of the Week honors twice. McHugh also was a member of the basketball team for two seasons, and has prior experience as a high school freshmen girls basketball coach.
"I am thrilled to share my love and passion for the game of lacrosse with our student-athletes,” said McHugh. “My goal is to build a successful and competitive program that fosters growth, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the sport."
McHugh will also be a physical education teacher at St. Laurence.
